A delegation of German businessmen headed by Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, has visited Khabarovsk Krai this week.
From the Russian side the trade mission was organized by the Ministry of International and Interregional Cooperation together with Export Support and Development Center of Khabarovsk Krai.
During the visit participants of the German delegation took part in a roundtable discussion: Investment Prospects of Industrial Development of the Russian Far East. Perspectives for Development of German Business in the Region. Participants from the Russian were representatives of the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East, Corporation of Khabarovsk Krai Development, Far East Agency for Investment Promotion and Export Support, as well as the Ministry of International and Interregional Cooperation of Khabarovsk Krai and Russian Far East Development Fund. Within the framework of the event Russian and German attendees discussed investment and international trade areas of cooperation along side with implementation of joint projects in Khabarovsk Krai.
The program of the German trade mission also included site visits of Avangard Industrial Park in Khabarovsk, Komsomolsk Territory of Advanced Development, production facilities of Sukhoi Superjet in Komsomolsk-on-Amur as well as wood processing facilities of RFP Group in Amursk.
As a result of the visit, the participants decided to elaborate on opportunities for further cooperation. According to one of the trade mission members – Head of Economic Department of the German Embassy in Moscow Dr. Tobias Tunkel:
— German companies have been present in Russia for more than 25 years. However, their presence is mostly in the Western part of the country. We know how to do business in Russia, we’ve been following the country’s development and if any decision about any business projects is to be taken, it will be taken fast.
