A team of the World Bank visited Khabarovsk Krai and held a number of meetings with regional government officials, academicians as well as business community.
The World Bank is a part of the United Nations system established to develop international economic development. The major focus of the World Bank in Russia at the moment is consulting and research projects.
Khabarovsk Krai has been cooperating with the World Bank for several years in a number of areas: a technical upgrading project of Roshydromet (The Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of Russia), forest resources management, as well as, Local Initiatives Support Program.
The purpose of the World Bank team’s visit was to identify new areas for cooperation in the field of export promotion and investment attraction as well as other regional economy related projects.
As a result of the meetings the World Bank team and the regional government officials expressed their willingness to continue further cooperation aimed at development of Khabarovsk Krai.
