Vanino Has Been Granted Free-Port Status
During the final session of the State Duma in Moscow the deputies adopted the draft law on Amendments to the Federal Law on Territories of Advanced Social and Economic Development and Federal Law on Vladivostok Free Port.
According to the proposed draft the free-port status will be granted to major harbors of the Russian Far East including the Port of Vanino in Khabarovsk Krai. Those initiatives have been developed by the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East at the instruction of President Putin.
A number of investment projects are being implemented these days in the Municipal District of Vanino including construction of a coal terminal.
It is expected that thanks to the new regime the district can attract more than $40 bln of investments and create more than 2,6 thousand jobs by 2021.
Pursuant to the Federal Law on Vladivostok Free Port a number of invectives can be offered to residents including reduced taxes, free customs zone and others.
