Russian Industrial Products Become Increasingly Popular Abroad

According to the press release published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in accordance with the report on the results of governmental activities presented by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in the State Duma, indicators of industrial exports increased in a number of industries last year.

For example, exports of construction materials doubled. About a third of waterproofing materials, soft roofing materials, as well as glass have recently been shipped abroad. Exports of chemical products grew by almost 14 per cent, while for the light industry and machine-tool construction sector, the growth was 4.6 and about 17 per cent, respectively.

Particular success was achieved by the automotive industry. Last year, the production of motor vehicles in all categories increased by 14 per cent compared to the year before last. Sales growth was 12.4 per cent, while car exports grew by 11.3 per cent in quantitative terms.

The agro-industrial complex has also achieved excellent results in deliveries to international markets (as already mentioned, Russia could become one of the top 10 global food exporters). At the same time, the active development of agriculture leads to a corresponding increase in production in related sectors, primarily in agricultural machinery, which set an absolute record for exports among other sectors, with an increase of 40 per cent.
