The event was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Government of Khabarovsk Krai, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, as well as Export Support and Development Center of Khabarovsk Krai and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
Participants of the event became more than 130 businessmen and officials from 11 Russian regions and 7 Japanese prefectures. 18 SMEs from Japan and Russia participated in roundtable discussions in the fields of agriculture, fish processing and wood industry. The dialogue also consisted of panel discussions, where representatives of both countries had a chance to share they experience about SME support, development of electronic trading platforms and services for businessmen.
The discussion panels were followed by B2B meetings, where entrepreneurs of both countries could discuss concrete projects and contracts. The participants reached agreements in the fields of forest industry, fish industry and agriculture.
During the second day of the event businessmen of both countries had a chance to meet again and visit investment project sites of Avangard Industrial Park, where Japanese JGC Evergreen has been implementing a greenhouse project. Businessmen for the forest industry went to Amursk to visit wood processing facilities of RFP Group.
The Business Dialogue takes place based on an MOU in the field of SME support between the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. The first dialogue occurred in Tokyo in March 2014, second — in December 2014 in Ulyanovsk, and last year Tokyo hosted the event again.
