Governor Vyacheslav Shport during his recent working visit to the People’s Republic of China discussed cooperation prospects of Khabarovsk Krai and Heilongjiang Province with the Vice-Governor of the neighbor Chinese region Song Yao.
The parties discussed trade and business opportunities, as well as education, culture, tourism and other fields for cooperation. A special attention was given to promising projects of social and economic development in the far-eastern region of Russia.
Khabarovsk Krai and Heilongjiang Province have been partner regions for a long time: in 1995 the regions signed a twin-sister document and in 1998 an agreement on trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation. Last year the Chinese region conducted the Days of Heilongjiang Province in Khabarovsk Krai, and the Russian region arranged the Days of Khabarovsk Krai in Heilongjiang Province on the premises of the II Russian-Chinese EXPO in Harbin.
The Russian Governor and Chinese Vice-Governor agreed to continue their discussion in the framework of the III Russian-Chinese EXPO, which is to take place in Ekaterinburg, Russia from July 11 to July 15.
