On the margins of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Governor Shport gave an interview to ITAR-TASS news agency. The head of the region spoke about major investment projects to be implemented in the region and business support measures.
The Governor pointed out that residents of Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk Territories of Advanced Development had declared more than 50 bln rubles of investments. He also mentioned that the region had applied to the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far-East for establishment of a new Territory of Advanced Development in Nikolaevsk-on-Amur.
Vyacheslav Shport disclosed some information about a major regional project — a Khabarovsk By-Pass Road. He informed the news agency that Japanese investors expressed their interest in the project. According to the Governor the interested Japanese parties received the project documentation and are studying it at the moment. The construction is to start in 2017 and will be the first PPP project of such a scale in the region based on concession. The investment project requires 40 bln rubles and a payback period of 9 years.
