On Friday, March 24, a delegation of Indian SRAM&MRAM visited Khabarovsk. A group of businessmen came to the Russian Far East to estimate investment prospects of the regions. The mutual interest emerged during a recent visit of the Russian delegation headed by Vice Prime-Minister and Presidential Envoy Yuri Trutnev to India. Then Khabarovsk Krai Governor Vyacheslav Shport invited Indian businessmen to Khabarovsk.
Vasily Shikhalev, First Deputy Chairman of Khabarovsk Krai Government, and Lachu Hiranandani Sailesh, President of SRAM&MRAM, met at Khabarovsk Krai Government and discussed possible cooperation areas. The guests from India were given a presentation about investment prospects of the region, tax incentives and potential spheres for collaboration including mining, logistics, wood processing, development and agriculture.
Mr. Lachu Hiranandani Sailesh pointed out that his company was working around the world in different business fields, however, SRAM&MRAM had not had any top-level contacts with Russian regions. The President of SRAM&MRAM stressed out that they were interested in mining and fishing projects and were ready to initiate any concrete projects within several months. According to the company’s President, as a rule, they invest from $5 to 10 mln. at first stage.
SRAM&MRAM is a major agri-food exporter from Cambodia and India. The company has also a pool of mining, petrochemistry, construction and IT projects. The company has branches in 12 countries around the world.
