On December 5–10, 2017 a trade mission of Khabarovsk Krai companies to Japan took place. The mission was organized by the Export Support and Development Center of Khabarovsk Krai supported by the Regional Agricultural Fund.
The anchor event in Japan was a Russian Gastro Week on the 6th of December organized by the Russian Export Center and became the final one for this year in the series of these exhibitions. Khabarovsk Krai presented products of 10 regional companies — from jams to fern. The format of the Russian Gastro Week includes B2B meetings with target companies where Russian exporters can present their product samples for tasting.
During the Tokyo visit the Khabarovsk Krai delegation ran a working meeting with the Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation in Japan and discussed issues related to peculiarities of exporting foods to the Japanese market.
The second stage of the trade mission was a visit to Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture which is a sister region of Khabarovsk Krai since 1969. The Russian delegation participated in a number of B2B meetings with regional importers, customs brokers and trading houses presenting Khabarovsk Krai companies’ products and discussing cooperation prospects.
As a result of the trade mission, 2 Memorandums of Understanding were signed: a three-party MOU among the Export Support and Development Center, Regional Agricultural Fund and Japanese consulting company as well as an MOU between a Russian ice-cream producer and Japanese importer. The signed agreements became an important step in promotion of agricultural and food products of Khabarovsk Krai to the Japanese market.
