On March 14 Khabarovsk hosted the Day of Chinese Investors. The large-scale event was attended by high-rank officials of the Russian Government including Yuri Trutnev, Vice-Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy in the Russian Far East. The list of Chinese visitors included representatives of major corporations.
The major goal of the Day was to discuss investment projects in the Russian Far East. One of the projects mentioned during the meeting was construction of a pulp mill near Amursk, Khabarovsk Krai. China Paper Corporation and RFP Group are going to implement the project.
According to the Governor of Khabarovsk Krai Vyacheslav Shport an MOU is expected to be signed in May. Before that a team of Chinese experts is going to visit the area for a feasibility study.
